Explanation of Spool Wire Manufacturing – Impact of Crystal Direction

Typical cable manufacturers produce spooled wire by pulling copper wire from a spool on the left to a spool on the right, then back again, producing two wires per cycle. To increase production efficiency, multiple spools are run simultaneously, but the winding direction of each spool is often not unified, causing the conductor crystal directions to be mixed.

This back-and-forth winding causes opposing crystal directions that cancel each other out, resulting in unstable signal transmission and compromised sound quality.

To use an analogy: it’s like stones in a riverbed. If the stones are randomly arranged, water flow will be turbulent and rough, making boat rides uncomfortable. Similarly, if the copper crystal directions are inconsistent, the stability of the electric current flow is affected, ultimately degrading the audio quality.
